Neuroscientist Honored for Research on a Rare Genetic Disease

Math P. Cuajungco, professor biological science, was honored with the the 2019 Faculty Research Award from the California State University Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology at a CSUPERB symposium at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in Garden Grove.

Over the past decade, Cuajungco has focused on research to find causes and a possible treatment for Mucolipidosis type IV, a rare genetic disease that typically leaves children unable to walk or talk, and can eventually lead to blindness. Continue reading in the Orange County Register.
