The African American Faculty and Staff Association Annual Awards and Scholarship Gala, a faculty-staff recognition and fundraising event for student scholarships, will be held Friday, March 15, from 5:30-11 p.m. in Portola Pavilions of the Titan Student Union.
The program will feature dinner, dancing and awards presentation. Being honored during the festivities are:
- outstanding faculty member — Dawn Person, professor of educational leadership;
- outstanding staff member — Jacqueline Otis, student academic services budget operation analyst; and
- J. Owens Smith, professor emeritus of Afro-ethnic studies and recipient of this year’s AAFSA recognition award.
