Make Parking Easier — Consider Alternatives This Fall

Share This:

It’s the start of the fall semester and the crush is on. For parking.

Until Eastside Parking Structure 2 is completed in fall 2020, parking remains at a premium. However, Parking and Transportation Services has some solutions.

Kicking off this fall is a new commuter movement, Titans Travel Together Tuesdays. Whether riding the train, bus or in a car- or vanpool, travel with a fellow Titan. Share photos and videos on social media with #TitansTravelTogether and tag @CSUFPTS. Each month, a winner will receive $50 in Zipcar credit.

To join the CSUF Titan Carpoolers group and form a carpool, check out the new Waze Carpool  system. Parking Lot D at the corner of Gymnasium and West Campus drives will be a carpool-only vehicle site from 7 to 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

Or park at the Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton and take a hassle-free shuttle ride to campus. Off-site parking permits are offered at $85 per semester and the shuttle is free.

The free shuttle service is offered Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. and runs every 10-15 minutes. The shuttle stop is located off corporation Drive in front of the Parking and Transportation Office.

Off-site permits can be used at the church Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on the main campus Fridays and during finals week.

Don’t have a car? Ride a bike, take a bus (with a discounted OCTA bus pass) or ride Metrolink or Amtrak. There are even opportunities for renting a car with gas and insurance included with Zipcar.

Want to learn more? Check out the full range of services offered on campus on the parking website or call Parking and Transportation Services at 657-278-3082, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
