Titan Pens ‘Criminal Minds’ Finale and Makes OC Moonshine

Kirsten Vangsness ’96 (B.A. theatre arts) says the finale of “The Office” inspired her to co-write the Feb. 19 final episode of “Criminal Minds,” which ends her 15-year run as computer whiz Penelope Garcia.

She said she doesn’t even watch her own show, which has some of the most heinous plots you can find on television.

Vangsness, who went to Cerritos High School, Cypress College and Cal State Fullerton, has been in all but one episode – more than 300 episodes. She plays the bespeckled genius who gives “gnarly exposition paragraphs,” she said. She also owns the Blinking Owl Distillery in Santa Ana with co-owners Robin and Brian Christenson.
