“Love Letters to the Black Community: A Night of Affirmation and Support,” celebrated the appreciation and inspiration of the black community. “Communities have breath,” said Torrell Foree ’14, ’16 (B.A. history/African American studies; M.A. education). “They breathe into our lungs and they give us life. They massage our muscles after long days. They give us the strength to keep on going despite the odds. They give us napkins to cry in and shoulders to stand on. They give us life.”
