“Each year since January of 2018, I’ve donned a reflective yellow vest, armed myself with a clipboard, pens and flashlights and joined the thousands of volunteers, including my fellow Cal State Fullerton geography students, who help with The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count on a cold winter night.

“Of Los Angeles County’s 4,000 square miles, I often volunteer for the neighborhoods with the highest need: South Central, Boyle Heights, Pomona, East Los Angeles.

“The amount of help needed is staggering. In 2019, we counted nearly 59,000 people unhoused in Los Angeles County.”  Continue reading in the Orange County Register.
