Alumni Association Welcomes Four New Board Members

Cal State Fullerton’s Department of Alumni Engagement recently welcomed four new members to the Alumni Association Board.

Cydney Francois
Cydney Francois ’18

Cydney Francois ’18
Cydney Francois works in the marketing department for the Los Angeles Kings where she serves as a liaison between the organization and the community. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in American studies and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the same field.

In addition to her studies, she also spends time volunteering for Easter Seals and Project Smile, a program that helps provide free dental care to children in Los Angeles County.

Steve Jacques

Steve Jacques ’92
Steve Jacques, director of analytics, insights and intelligence for Advantage Solutions, leads a team that helps manufacturing partners grow their businesses in grocery and natural specialty grocer chains.

Graduating from CSUF with majors in anthropology and geography, Jacques spent a year abroad in Germany and held leadership positions in student government and Sigma Pi fraternity. He married a fellow alumna, Lynn, and received an MBA from Middlebury Institute of International Studies. In 2007, Jacques returned to CSUF and earned a master’s degree in anthropology.

He has two grown children. His son is currently a Titan. He coached AYSO soccer for his son and daughter and was a scoutmaster for his son’s troop. He remains active in the Archaeological Institute of America Orange County Society.

Linda Vasquez

Linda Vasquez ’09
Linda Vasquez serves as senior public affairs director for the Campaign for College Opportunity, an organization designed to expand opportunities for low-income, first-generation college students. Vasquez earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at Cal State Fullerton. She participated in the California Education Policy Fellowship program and the Hispanas Organized for Political Equity Leadership Institute.

She currently serves as chairwoman of the JOYA Scholars Board, a Fullerton-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring low-income, first-generation college students are supported in their pathway to a college degree.

Kathy Yu
Kathy Yu ’10

Kathy Yu ’10
Kathy Yu serves as a national account manager in advertising sales at Hulu. Yu graduated with a double major in political science and communications. During her years at CSUF, she was actively involved in student government and as a member of her sorority, Sigma Kappa.

She remains active in her community, working for such groups as the American Red Cross, League of Women Voters, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and Alzheimer’s Association.
