From July 21-24, there will be some new faces at Cal State Fullerton. As part of the Special Olympics World Games, delegations from five countries will be staying in campus residence halls and practicing on the university’s athletics fields prior to the July 25 start of the games in Los Angeles.
Athletes and coaches from Bosnia, Lebanon, Rwanda, Tunisia and Ukraine will be living on campus during Host Town Week. This will allow the teams to become acclimated to the time zones, enjoy activities that the city of Fullerton has to offer, and prepare athletes to compete at the games.
Cal State Fullerton is one of the sponsors of the Host Town program in Fullerton that is responsible for bringing these athletes here.
The free, public events, featuring 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches, will be held July 25 through Aug. 2 at several venues. Additional information available online.
