Among recent presentations by Cal State Fullerton faculty members:

In August, Binod Tiwari, professor of civil and environmental engineering, delivered a keynote address at the 13th International Symposium on Geo-Disaster Reduction in Prague. “Geo-disasters Associated With the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake and Lessons Learned for Future Preparedness” focused on Tiwari’s work to help Nepal recover from the powerful April earthquake. During the summer, Tiwari also returned to Nepal to coordinate an international panel of experts that reviewed and gave a report to the Nepal Electricity Authority on the design of a dam site at the largest hydropower project in the country.

Dawn Person, professor of educational leadership and director of the Center for Research on Educational Access and Leadership, served on a expert panel conducting a review of the Student Affairs Division at the University of the Free State in South Africa. Person spent a week at the South African institution to determine program and service effectiveness and areas of challenge that need improvement to meet division and institutional goals for student success. She reviewed documents and interviewed administrators, students and staff about their unit, programs and outcomes.
