Cal State Fullerton alumna Deborah Voigt has returned to her alma mater on various occasions — on stage and off — and always in support of students. She was center stage Jan. 14, 2006, to help mark the opening of the Clayes Performing Arts Center and later that year, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
The international opera star is due back on stage at Meng Concert Hall Nov. 8 to celebrate the formation of the School of Music and 50 years of musical excellence at CSUF. The former student of Jane Paul Hummel, professor emeritus of music, was introduced to opera while studying with her, and today, Voigt is one of opera’s most famous voices.
Proceeds from the event will benefit student scholarships. Tickets can be purchased online.
