Jere H. Lipps, director of the John D. Cooper Archaeological and Paleontological Center, was elected president of the Cushman Foundation for Foraminiferal Research during the Geological Society of America’s annual meeting in Baltimore. During the meeting, Lipps presented a paper on the origin and evolution of heterotrophic protists and organized and moderated a technical session, “Evolution in the Oceans.”
In addition to this most recent appointment, Lipps is the secretary of the Geology and Geography Section of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Dallas Stout, lecturer in child and adolescent studies, was appointed to the Fullerton Police Chief’s advisory board in October. The advisory board was created in 2014 to provide input on various issues, including department policies and procedures.
