The “classics” are renowned for a reason – pianist Ning An will demonstrate why in a guest recital from 8 to 10 p.m. Feb. 2 in Chapman’s Salmon Recital Hall.
In next week’s performance, the CSUF professor of music will play three classic piano pieces, including Chopin’s four ballades, Schumann’s “Arabesque” and Liszt’s Sonata in B minor.
An has played on three continents and in venues such as Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall and the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
He made his orchestral debut at 16 with the Cleveland Orchestra and has gone on to be a featured soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra, Moscow Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony and many others.
