Meredith Basil assumes the role of interim associate vice president for student affairs Dec. 1, leading the student retention cluster. She will fill the position until a permanent hire is made.
In this role, Basil will oversee Athletic Academic Services, Career Center, Center for Internships and Community Engagement, Center for Scholars, Counseling and Psychological Services, Disability Support Services, Student Academic Services, Student Health Center, Veteran Student Services and the assistant deans for student affairs.
She currently serves as interim associate vice president for student engagement, which will be permanently filled by Tonantzin Oseguera Dec. 1.
Basil, who earned her bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in psychology from American University, has previously served as associate director of athletics, senior woman administrator, director of athletic academic services and the deputy Title IX coordinator for athletics.
