Education Week: Decade of Preparing Educational Leaders

Cal State Fullerton’s College of Education presents “Education Week” Nov. 15-17, featuring activities for future teachers, panel discussions and a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the doctoral program in educational leadership. All events are open to students, faculty and staff members and the public.

Highlights Include:

Tuesday, Nov. 15
11 a.m.- 1 p.m. — Future Teacher Festival, Titan Walk, featuring information about the College of Education’s teacher preparation programs, services and resources.

5-9 p.m. — Education Week Boot Camp, Titan Student Union, activities for future teachers to gain insights from educational professionals, including preparing for teacher interviews, a resume clinic and career opportunities with local school districts.

  • 7-7:45 p.m. — “First-Year Teaching” panel discussion and Q&A, Titan Student Union, with College of Education alumni who have taught for one year.

Wednesday, Nov. 16
Noon-1 p.m. — C-REAL Symposium, Titan Student Union, a panel discussion on global education with visiting Chinese scholars and moderated by Ding-Jo Currie and Marc Ecker, educational leadership faculty members.

6-8 p.m. — Ed.D 10th Anniversary Celebration, Titan Student Union, commemorating a decade of success of the doctoral program in education leadership.

  • 6:25-6:45 p.m. —College of Education Dean Lisa Kirtman will deliver remarks, followed by recognition of educational leadership faculty members, including founding members of the Ed.D. program and alumni.
  • 6:45-7:30 p.m. — “10 Years of Impact: Transformative Leadership Linking Theory to Practice” Ed.D. alumni and faculty panel discussion, Titan Student Union
  • 7:30-8 p.m. — Reception and Networking
     

Thursday, Nov. 17
11 a.m.-1 p.m. — Center for Careers in Teaching Open House, Education- Classroom Building, Room 379
