Lynn M. Coppel, librarian emeritus, died April 19 at the age of 84.
Coppel worked for three years in the library at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and 26 years in the library at Cal State Fullerton. She received her bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Arizona, her master’s degree in librarianship from the University of Denver, and a second master’s degree in environmental studies from Cal State Fullerton.
Coppel was an active member in many local community groups, including the University’s Patrons of the Library, the Phi Delta Gamma Honor Society and the Southwest Oral History Association.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Claude; her son, Alan; daughter, Susannah Burica; brother, Donald Mackison; and grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Burica.
A Celebration of Life service will be held May 6 at 2 p.m. at the Temple Beth Tikvah, 1600 N. Acacia, Fullerton, CA 92831.
