Cal State Fullerton’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and St. Joseph Health are hosting a free, public screening of the PBS Frontline program “Being Mortal,” which follows Boston surgeon Atul Gawande, author of a book of the same name, “as he explores the relationships doctors have with patients who are nearing the end of life. The film investigates how doctors are often untrained, ill-suited and uncomfortable talking about chronic illness and death with their patients.”
The film will be shown at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in Mackey Auditorium of the Ruby Gerontology Center. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring clinical experts from St. Jude Medical Center.
