An alumnus who worked his way up from student employee to leadership positions within the Auxiliary Services Corp. (ASC) will now lead the organization.
Chuck Kissel ’95, ’11 (B.A. business administration-management, MBA-finance), ASC’s associate executive director since 2012 and a lecturer in finance, was elected executive director during the ASC Board of Directors meeting. The appointment was effective Dec. 18.
His affiliation with ASC began in 1994. Kissel served as a textbook clerk, textbook return manager, customer service manager and operation manager within Titan Shops. He became director of the campus bookstore in 2005. As director, Kissel oversaw a textbook rental program, the integration of e-textbooks and access to online textbooks in an effort to provide students with cheaper alternatives to buying new. In 2009, he garnered a $300,000 U.S. Department of Education grant to expand the textbook rental program.
In addition to his duties in the ASC, Kissel currently serves on the executive committee of the Auxiliary Organizations Association and the board of directors for indiCo. He has been president of the Independent College Bookstore Association and a trustee for the National Association of College Stores Board. In 2016, Kissel received the certified Auxiliary Services Professional designation.
