Leadership, Authenticity Are Focus of Women’s History Month Celebration

Titan Women Collective co-founder Charlesetta Medina ’10 (B.A. business administration-entrepreneurship) is the keynote speaker for Cal State Fullerton’s March 13 Women’s History Month reception.

Hosted by President Fram Virjee and his wife, Julie, in partnership with the WoMen’s and Adult Reentry Center, the event will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Fullerton Arboretum’s Bacon Pavilion.

Medina, a small business specialist and entrepreneur-in-residence at the university’s Center for Entrepreneurship, will focus her talk on “Women’s Leadership: Agency and Authenticity.” She recently founded the Titan Women Collective to mentor and develop the next generation of Orange County businesswomen.

More than 25 other events are planned for Women’s History Month, including:

  • Sunday, March 3 — “We Slay Brunch: Women, Sisters, Titans,” hosted by the WoMen’s and Adult Reentry Center and Student Life and Leadership, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Titan Student Union, Portola Pavilion
  • Wednesday, March 6 — “The Roles We Play: Challenging Unhealthy Masculinity; Embracing a Feminist Perspective,” hosted by the Male Success Initiative, 1-2:30 p.m. Gordon Hall, Room 205
  • Thursday, March 7 — “International Women’s Day: Resilience Through Art,” hosted by the WoMen’s and Adult Reentry Center, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Humanities-Social Sciences Building plaza
  • Friday, March 8 — “Formation Day for Women” Workshops, hosted by Associated Students Inc. and the Student Recreation Center, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. SRC pool deck
  • Saturday, March 9 — “Portfolio Tips and Strong Female Character Development in ‘The Lego Batman Movie,'” hosted by the Women in Animation Club, 6 p.m. Visual Arts Center, Room 113
  • Thursday, March 14 — “Women in the Arts” Panel, hosted by the College of the Arts, 4 p.m. Clayes Performing Arts Center, McCarty Grand Foyer
  • Saturday, March 16 — “Women Veterans in Higher Education” Conference, hosted by the Veterans Resource Center, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Titan Student Union, Portola Pavilion AB
  • Monday, March 18 — “Women’s Leadership: Agency and Authenticity” Workshop, hosted by Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Mihaylo Hall, Room 3230
