Fullerton Arboretum will hold its annual California Native Plant Sale Nov. 2-3, 10 a.m-4 p.m. Gardeners can choose from more than 100 varieties of California-native plants grown at the arboretum, and proceeds support the botanical garden.
Native plants are espoused by gardening experts for their many advantages over most non-natives. They require less water, fertilizers, pesticides and maintenance, and they support local ecology, providing habitat for native birds and other pollinators.
Gardening experts will be on hand at the sale to provide advice on choosing appropriate plants for individual sites and to teach about building native-habitat gardens to attract butterflies, bees and birds.
The event is open to the public. For more information or to learn about other offerings at the arboretum, visit their website.
