Harvey P. Grody, professor emeritus of political science and the university’s first recipient of the Faculty Leadership in Collegial Governance Award, died Nov. 10.
Grody, who joined CSUF’s faculty in 1969 and received emeritus status in 1997, served as the pre-law adviser and founding chair of the College Legal Clinic in Fullerton.
He also was a champion for faculty rights, actively involved in the California Faculty Association and the recipient of its statewide F. Ben Mansell Award for 20 years of service as a faculty advocate and representative.
Grody’s scholarly work focused on California politics, with an emphasis on water policy. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UC Berkeley and his doctorate from UCLA.
