Meet Hakob Avetisyan, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, who tackles research projects that address real-world challenges relating to project management and environmental sustainability. He has published in numerous journals on such topics as optimal decision-making in project management for the construction, transportation and energy industries, as well as on port security and seismic analysis of bridges. He holds two doctorates in civil and environmental engineering-project management from the University of Maryland, and in structural mechanics from Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction in Armenia. He also earned three master’s degrees.
