Ella Ben Hagai, assistant professor of social psychology at Cal State Fullerton, specializes in the study of how groups influence psychology, as well as intergroup conflict and reconciliation.  While this election cycle has brought new meaning to words “division” and “polarization,” Ben Hagai believes that “the most important thing to reduce polarization and extremism is (to come) into contact with people who are different than you.”
