Ingrid Garner ’14 (B.A. theatre arts) wrote and stars in
“Eleanor’s Story: An American Girl in Hitler’s Germany,” an adaptation of her grandmother Eleanor Ramrath Garner’s autobiography, with June 21 and 27 performances at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in Los Angeles.
Eleanor was a 9-year-old American citizen whose family was crossing the Atlantic to move to Germany when war broke out. Unable to return to the U.S., she lived through years of bombings, hunger, oppression and the also-terrifying aftermath of post-World War II Berlin under Soviet occupation.
