Robert Istad, professor of music and director of choral studies, will make his Segerstrom Center Concert Hall conducting debut May 17.
Pacific Chorale, the internationally acclaimed resident choir of Segerstrom, will present its finale concert at 5:30 p.m., with a concert preview at 4:30 p.m. The finale will feature works by Verdi, Howells and Poulenc.
Uniquely, the concert will feature two conductors: John Alexander, the current artistic director for Pacific Chorale and CSUF professor emeritus of music, and Istad.
Istad was recently appointed Pacific Chorale artistic director designate for the 2017-18 season, upon the retirement of Alexander.
