Cal State Fullerton’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning shares new data for CSUF’s progress toward Graduation Initiative 2025 — the California State University-wide initiative that was started in 2016 to increase undergraduate student graduation rates, while eliminating equity gaps.

Some of the major highlights are CSUF’s four- and six-year graduation rates for first-time, first-year students have increased from 2016-24, and remain higher than the overall CSU graduation rates.

Specifically, for first-time, first-year students, the rates for CSUF and the CSU overall are:

6-Year Grad Rate
  • 2016, CSUF only: 62%
  • 2016, CSU overall: 61%
  • 2024, CSUF only: 70%
  • 2024, CSU overall: 62%
4-Year Grad Rate
  • 2016, CSUF only: 22%
  • 2016, CSU overall: 21%
  • 2024, CSUF only: 38%
  • 2024, CSU overall: 36%

The first-time, first-year students’ graduation rate equity gap for underrepresented students has unfortunately increased from 6.6 percentage points in 2016 to 7.6 percentage points in 2024.
