The Center for Educational Partnerships and the Male Success Initiative hosted the second annual Pathway Conference on Feb. 22. This conference was open to all student with an emphasis on male transfer students of color. More than 120 students from across 26 different community college campuses participated in the event.
Students who attended the conference were greeted and welcomed by President Ronald S. Rochon during his opening address. The keynote speaker inspired students to embrace history, challenge the dominate narrative and never stop learning.
Students chose from 13 different workshops and panels, and the three themed breakout sessions focused on major selection, sense of belonging, and access and pathways. The workshops were hosted by various CSUF departments, covering topics like financial aid for transfer students, career options for different majors and budgeting for the semester. The conference also featured various student panels where CSUF transfer students shared their experiences.
The conference was made possible by the support of Rochon, the Division of Student Affairs, and the time and support of several campus partners.
