Cal State Fullerton’s Associated Students Inc. has sworn in its 2025–26 student leadership, ushering in a new chapter of student governance. The newly elected and appointed leaders will serve through May 31, 2026, representing the voice of the student body and guiding initiatives that impact the campus community.

Following the March 2025 student elections, Haneefah Syed and Juan Salguero were elected as ASI president and vice president, respectively. Joe Morales, who was elected to the board of directors, was selected by his peers on June 2 to serve as board chair. All three student leaders are from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. A full list of all student leaders is available on the ASI website.

The induction ceremony featured remarks from Dave Edwards, ASI executive director, David Forgues, vice president for student affairs, and CSUF President Ronald Rochon, who delivered a message on the responsibilities of leadership.

“Your leadership, your decision-making, your collaboration and your ability to understand discernment are nonnegotiable,” said Rochon. “Your ability to listen to one another, especially when you disagree and to recognize and respect one another regardless of race, ethnicity or religious beliefs — that’s what our campus deserves.”

Moreover, the chief officers, appointed through an application-based process earlier in the year, are as follows:

  • Riya Jain, chief campus relations officer
  • Tyler Gibbs, chief governmental officer
  • Ava Montano, chief diversity and inclusion officer

At ASI’s first board of directors meeting with the 2025-26 student leaders, held June 2 in the Titan Student Union, members voted to appoint the remaining executive team:

  • Mahak Ahmad, vice chair
  • Shay Quock, treasurer
  • Luca Romero, secretary

Key topics discussed included the recently approved ASI Wellness Initiative, anticipated budget adjustments, and navigating California’s current political and economic climate — all with a focus on supporting and empowering the Titan community.

ASI’s board of directors will continue to meet biweekly in the ASI board room inside the Titan Student Union. All meetings are open to the CSUF community, providing students with a platform to share feedback, ask questions and stay informed.

The 2025–26 ASI leaders are set to play a vital role in shaping student life, promoting advocacy and strengthening campus engagement throughout the academic year.
