CSUF Celebrates Latinx Heritage Month 2025

Share This:

As the university launches Latinx Heritage Month 2025 at Cal State Fullerton, it’s time to reflect on the depth, richness and brilliance of Latinx communities across the globe. This month is a powerful reminder of the histories, cultures and contributions that have long shaped the fabric of society and campus.

CSUF also recognizes the recent celebration of Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week, observed this year from Sept. 8-15. CSUF earned its HSI designation in 2004, signifying the enrollment of over 25% Latinx students.

Today, the Latinx community represents more than 50% of the student body and 34% of the Orange County population. Whether a student, staff or faculty member of any background, learning about and celebrating Latinx cultures contributes to collective work in student success and preparing the campus to continue to serve Orange County and beyond.

From Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, Latinx Heritage Month honors the legacies of individuals who have shaped history and culture. These and countless others remind the Titan community of the resilience, artistry and leadership that continue to emerge from Latinx communities worldwide.

CSUF’s commitment to serving Latina/o/x and Chicana/o/x students is woven into the fabric of its mission. That commitment is strengthened by the efforts of faculty, staff, students and student organizations — some of which include the Latinx Community Resource CenterLatinx Lab for Storytelling and Social Justice, and Ánimo: Latinx Counseling Concentration. Together, the university celebrates the richness of Latinidades and affirms its role in advancing equity and opportunity.

The campus invites all members of the Titan community to participate in this year’s programs by visiting the Latinx Heritage Month website to explore upcoming events.
