Titan Dreamers Resource Center coordinator, Martha Zavala Perez, was not aware of her own undocumented status until she applied for college. She was the first in her family to attend a university and shortly afterward became a part-time instructor.
Now, Zavala Perez strives to help students facing similar struggles in the Titan Dreamers Resource Center, which serves about 1,000 Cal State Fullerton students in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) federal program.
She watched the Feb. 5 State of the Union address in the center, with 30 CSUF students, and recalled her own State of the Union experience years before. Continue reading in the Orange County Register.
