Pomp and circumstance reigned all weekend, celebrating the accomplishments of graduates and candidates adorned in caps and gowns. Three days of commencement ceremonies wrap up today.

Maria Barrientos de Pantaleon, with her son, Mario, and daughter, Elisa, received their degrees this week.

Joined by faculty, family and friends, students reflected on their educational experiences at Saturday’s commencement ceremonies.

Mark Hoven Stohs, professor of finance in Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, was elected by acclamation Thursday, May 17, to chair Cal State Fullerton’s Academic Senate for the 2018-19 academic year.

It was a day to remember for 18 ROTC cadets who were commissioned as second lieutenants in a special May 17 ceremony before family, friends and campus supporters.

“The next generation of Titans looks to you to see what’s possible,” said Cal State Fullerton President Fram Virjee at Friday’s all-university commencement ceremony.

This summer, seven Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) scholars will forgo vacations to spend their time conducting research. It’s well worth it, they say, as it moves them closer to the reality of an advanced degree and a career in scientific exploration.

Morteza Rahmatian has been appointed dean of the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics for a two-year term, effective July 1, 2018.

The first class of graduating students in the four-year integrated B.S.-M.S. program in computer engineering will be recognized at the College of Engineering and Computer Science commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 20.
