To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Cal State Fullerton’s Lawrence de Graaf Center for Oral and Public History (COPH) recently invited many of its students, founders and supporters to campus for a day of lectures, programs and a celebratory reception.

Forty-four students are graduating this year from Cal State Fullerton’s Abrego Future Scholars, a program that supports first-generation college students with scholarships and resources to help them achieve their educational goals and earn a college degree. The program is supported by the annual Hispanic Scholarship Golf Tournament, in which $100,000 was raised at this spring’s sold-out event.
Anneke Mendiola has been awarded the 2019 Betty Robertson Award from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. At 82, she is graduating from Cal State Fullerton with two bachelor’s degrees.
Graduating and incoming President’s Scholars were recognized at the May 1 President’s Scholars Reception.
Four Cal State Fullerton student researchers won top awards at the 33rd annual CSU Student Research Competition, hosted by CSUF on April 26-27. The competition brought together 275 students from 22 campuses across the California State University system.
