The Garden Flea Market is back again and returning with a fresh new theme called “Bloom,” inspired by Tyler, the Creator. Brought to the campus community by the CSUF Event Planning and Management class, the Garden Flea Market will take place April 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton.
The Bloom: Garden Flea Market will showcase a variety of student and local vendors, from handcrafted items to vintage goods. Attendees will have the opportunity to support their fellow students while exploring unique items, enjoying music from Titan Radio, indulging in delicious food and experiencing live performances. Additionally, there will be a scavenger hunt that participants can join to enter giveaways that feature prizes from local businesses. This vibrant market will not only highlight the talents of Cal State Fullerton students but also create a lively atmosphere for everyone in the community to enjoy.
Mya Tillman, a student who is helping her class set up the flea market, said she loves the event planning class because it gives her the freedom to unleash her creativity while planning the event. She added that not only has this class allowed her to make friendships beyond the classroom, but it has also provided her with an amazing platform for networking with individuals who share the same passion for expressing their creativity.
“I’m discovering that event planning involves a ton of detail-oriented work,” said Tillman. “It’s all about careful budgeting and crafting an unforgettable experience that leaves a lasting impression during and after the event.”
Tillman aspires to a career as an event planner. “I’m really excited about my future in event planning, especially in the vibrant scene of Hollywood and Los Angeles. My dream is to dive into professional sports event planning with ESPN. I’ve already taken on the role of entertainment manager with my class, which is giving me a fantastic taste of what it’s like to bring amazing events to life through music.”
Admission to the event is free. Plus, CSUF students who visit the Bloom: Garden Flea Market and bring their student ID will have the opportunity to enjoy a free meal.
