There are many paths to earning a bachelor’s degree beyond the traditional path. People have different life circumstances that require flexibility to achieve their academic and professional goals. That’s why Cal State Fullerton Extension offers degree programs to help students reach those goals.
The online B.A. in humanities and social sciences is one of three bachelor’s programs offered by CSUF Extension. The online program gives students the opportunity to earn their degrees in a flexible format that fits their impacted schedules.
One program graduate, Adelia Jones, is a military spouse who was in the process of moving her family from Northern California to Delaware. She needed a way to pursue her degree while traveling back and forth between states. CSUF’s online HSS program was the perfect solution.
“The online option was the best thing that ever could have happened,” said Jones. “I would 100% recommend it, especially to military members and spouses.”
Jones said she chose the degree program because it will help her pursue her greatest passion, which is nursing.
“In the medical field, people don’t always take into account how social sciences and anthropology affect us physically,” she explained. “The way we were raised and our culture affect our physical health. Just learning about cultural differences can make a huge impact, especially in the medical community. It’s helping me so much with my future nursing career.”
Jones graduated from the program in spring 2022 and was accepted into the nursing program at Delaware State University.
“Without the online degree program at Cal State Fullerton, I wouldn’t be in the position that I am right now,” said Jones.
