Cal State Fullerton’s Office of Government and Community Relations had the opportunity to participate in the Orange County Business Council’s Legislative Day, connecting with local elected officials, supervisors and community leaders to discuss issues affecting the county.
Hosted on July 31 at UC Irvine, the inaugural event focused on several key topics, including economic development, workforce, housing and infrastructure in Orange County. In addition to participating in Q&A sessions with legislators, representatives from CSUF also attended presentations with California State Senators Catherine Blakespear, Josh Newman and Tom Umberg, and California State Assembly Members Diane Dixon, Cottie Petrie-Norris and Tri Ta.
Annie Yea, interim associate vice president for government and community relations, moderated a panel alongside Assembly Member Avelino Valencia, discussing such important topics as the state budget, higher education and better supporting small businesses.
