Chicana and Chicano Studies Professor Named to National Leadership Programs

Share This:

Erualdo González, professor of Chicana and Chicano studies at Cal State Fullerton, earned two prestigious national leadership roles. He was named a 2025 fellow in the American Association of Colleges & Universities New Leadership Academy and a 2024-25 participant in the Volcker Alliance’s Future Leaders of Schools of Public Service.

These programs prepare academic leaders to make a lasting impact in university administration. González strives to bring innovative equity practices from national universities to CSUF, enhancing its ability to address evolving challenges in higher education. Growing up in Santa Ana, a vibrant, working-class and immigrant city just 10 miles from campus, he values these programs for fostering mentors and allies who empower leaders like him — first-generation scholars committed to serving diverse students and communities. He believes growing as a higher education leader is essential to address shifting demographics, urban inequities and a rapidly changing higher education landscape.
