Cal State Fullerton’s Department of Liberal Studies and the Pollak Library will host a March 8 conference on “The University in the Anthropocene.” The conference, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in room 130 of Pollak Library, will provide a rich series of presentations and panels on the role of universities in responding to climate change.

The keynote address will be delivered by Bryan Alexander, a Georgetown University futurist whose bookUniversities on Fire” explores how universities are and can respond to today’s environmental challenges.

The event is free, but please register to attend. The program will also feature a sustainability walking tour of the campus, a moderated roundtable on CSUF’s response to the Anthropocene, and Indigenous perspectives from CSUF’s Inter-Tribal Student Council. Breakfast, lunch and a closing reception will be included.
