For her commitment to higher education and service to Cal State Fullerton, CSUF President Sylvia Alva was honored with a resolution, presented to her by California Assembly Member Sharon Quirk-Silva. The resolution was also signed by Sen. Josh Newman, Sen. Tom Umberg and Assembly Member Avelino Valencia.
Alva has served as president of CSUF since Aug. 1, 2023. In this role, she has worked on key projects and initiatives, including the launch of Fullerton Forward 2024-29, a strategic plan that outlines the university’s priorities, goals and vision for the next five years. Alva has also championed community outreach and engagement, collaborating with campus partners to host such events as Little Saigon Community Engagement Day and a forum to discuss affordable housing.
