Rob van Riel, a lecturer in communications/radio, recently hosted the City of Upland’s Christmas Parade with radio broadcasting legend “Shotgun” Tom Kelly. Kelly is the host of 60’s Gold on Sirius channel 73 and was an on-air personality on KEARTH 101 for 20 years. The annual parade features classic cars, girl scouts, boy scouts, and local leaders. van Riel has taught communications courses at CSUF since 2005 and is the coordinator of the Radio-Audio Certificate Program. The Radio-Audio certificate allows students to complete a set of courses that provide relevant hands-on skills for working in traditional radio and online audio broadcasting.
