The Ed.D. Student Advisory Board hosted “Spring Into Leadership,” a dynamic and well-attended event featuring a distinguished panel of educational leaders discussing career pathways, job market trends and essential skills for aspiring educational administrators. Panelists included CSUF President Ronald S. Rochon, Ayele Dodoo from WestEd, David Forgues from CSUF, and Robert Kimble and Darvin Jackson from Saddleback Valley Unified School District. Moderated by Ed.D. students, the conversation provided invaluable insights on leadership opportunities and career advancement.
Gaby Montes, CSUF career specialist, led a session on crafting strong resumes and curricula vitae, followed by interactive mock interviews designed to help participants refine their responses for leadership positions. The event brought together Ed.D. students from all cohorts, creating a strong sense of community and professional growth.
Student organizers Angelik Broaster, Simten Cekicer, Frances Baird and Zavier Williams were key in coordinating the event. Nancy Watkins, Ed.D. program director, emphasized the importance of such gatherings.
“Learning, exchanging ideas and networking are essential to building and supporting our leaders,” said Watkins.
The “Spring Into Leadership” event underscored the program’s commitment to equipping Ed.D. students with the knowledge, skills and connections needed to excel as educational leaders.
