Amanda Rose Villarreal, Cal State Fullerton associate professor of theatre and dance, coauthored an innovative book that explores theatre education for 21st-century students. “The Theatre Artist’s Guide to Consent-Based Pedagogy” debuted as a top new release in the arts and humanities teaching materials category on Amazon.
The book promotes strategies and techniques to boost students’ cognitive, emotional and artistic growth by focusing on agency and creating a safe environment with clear boundaries. Villarreal leads the Single-Subject Credential in Theatre program at Cal State Fullerton and has written theatre curriculum guides for multiple school districts.
