CSUF Professor Helps Empower Teachers for Successful Careers

Share This:

It’s an exciting time for the Teacher Induction Program at Cal State Fullerton as it welcomes a new faculty coordinator, Loretta Donovan.

Donovan is a professor in the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education at CSUF.

“As the program coordinator, it’s my job to ensure both the candidate and their mentor feel supported,” she says. “Being an online program, candidates have a level of flexibility when working on coursework, but at the same time, each course is structured to support the candidate and mentor each week.”

Another highlight of the TIP program Donovan shares is that all professors have been K-12 educators. They understand that teachers are busy individuals. That’s why this program ensures that deadlines are reasonable and each module teaches relevant content that can be directly applied in the classroom. “Each course is designed to support your development as a busy teacher,” she explains.

She goes on to say that the TIP program will prepare students for successful careers. “You will be well-positioned to be a leader in your school, a candidate for an M.S. degree, and a lifelong learner and educator.”

Do you know what Donovan’s favorite course in the program is or what advice she has for new students? You can find out by reading her full interview here.
