Cal State Fullerton graduate student Susie Prado and her faculty adviser Amy Cox-Petersen, chair and professor of elementary and bilingual education, were awarded a travel grant from the California State University Chancellor’s Office to attend the American Educational Research Association conference in Philadelphia.
Prado is part of the Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program, which provides doctoral students with financial support, faculty mentorship, professional development and grant resources. At the conference, Prado had the opportunity to network with other researchers in the field. Cox-Petersen was an integral part of the conference because she advised Prado on the sessions to attend and how to gather data for her research. With this guidance, Prado narrowed her research and is ready to begin her dissertation.
