Kim Nason, School of Music alumna was recognized by the Orange County Music and Arts Administrators with the Irene Schoepfle Award. This is a county-wide honor that celebrates teachers who have made a noteworthy impact on generations of young musicians. Nason was honored for her long and distinguished career. She has taught vocal and general music in Capistrano Unified for 32 years, impacting the lives of more than 25,000 students. She has also served as a mentor and advisor for new teachers, a workshop presenter, and an honor choir conductor, in addition to being a member of the Pacific Chorale. She recently completed CSUF’s M.M. Choral Conducting degree and is a proud Titan Alum. She is looking forward to a well-deserved retirement at the end of this school year. She will be honored by her fellow teachers and arts administrators in an awards ceremony on May 17 at the Samueli Theater in Costa Mesa.
