The Office for Civil Rights and Equity will host the 24th annual Violence Prevention Conference on March 20 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Titan Student Union. Free and open to the public, the event will feature a keynote address from renowned sociologist Patricia Hill Collins and an exploration of her published work, including a call for collective action toward dismantling systems of oppression.

The theme of this year’s conference, “Toward Collective Justice: The Keystone to Prevention,” examines the systemic roots of sexual violence in order to create new pathways toward inclusive, multi-faceted and interdisciplinary prevention efforts.

Breakout sessions throughout the day will focus on such topics as mental health, proactive prevention, gender identity and social justice. The conference will include presentations by CSUF faculty and community leaders.
