Erualdo González-Romero, assistant professor of Chicano/Chicana studies, co-edits a new book, Gentrification, Displacement, and Alternative Futures. The book provides case studies in select cities in the United States and global south, including New Orleans, Houston, Tucson, Los Angeles, and Chile. The authors examine key ways a lack of affordability arises in the housing and commercial sector and how displacement impacts marginalized and materially exploited populations.
