Tabashir Nobari, assistant professor of public health, co-authored “The COVID-19 Pandemic Contributed to Disparities in Housing-Cost Burden Among WIC-Participating Households in the Most Populous County in California” in the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities. She and her collaborators found that 61% of WIC households in Los Angeles County reported housing-cost burden, with two-thirds attributing the burden to the pandemic. Differences existed by race/ethnicity, type of residence, and employment status.
