Sales Leadership Center Hosts Inaugural Titan-Mania Virtual Sales Showdown

At Cal State Fullerton, innovation and student success go hand in hand, and this spring, the Sales Leadership Center brought that mission to life by hosting the inaugural Titan-Mania Virtual Sales Competition. Held on April 25, the groundbreaking event united approximately 40 students from 13 universities across Hawaii, Florida and Canada, making it an international showcase of emerging sales talent.

Branded as the “Battle of the Biggest, Baddest and Best,” the competition took place online via Zoom. The virtual format not only provided significant cost savings and eliminated geographic barriers but also reflected CSUF’s commitment to sustainability and inclusive learning. This digital-first approach allowed students to compete at a national level without the financial strain or environmental impact of travel.

Students participated in a real-world role play scenario featuring the Los Angeles Kings. They pitched ticket membership plans to Los Angeles Kings employees acting as buyers. They earned scholarship prizes and gained exposure to recruiters — all from their home campuses.

“It was a great experience,” said one student competitor. “I did achieve my goal of stepping out of my comfort zone to be in this competition and putting in work to prepare for it.”

Led by Brad Anderson, director of the Sales Leadership Center and the SLC student board, and supported by Scott Hachey, assistant professor of marketing, the event strengthened CSUF’s position as a national leader in sales education and experiential learning. It also served as a powerful recruitment platform, offering a glimpse into the high-impact opportunities available to all Titans through the Sales Leadership Center.
