Sports Media Students Embark on an Olympic Odyssey: A Study Abroad Program in Paris

Share This:

Cal State Fullerton is breaking new ground in sports media education through the Sports Media Certificate Program in the Department of Communications. As part of the hands-on experiences offered, students will have an exclusive opportunity to report live from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This experience is not only poised to elevate students’ resumes but also enhance their skills as emerging sports media professionals.

Gayle Jansen Brisbane, CSUF assistant professor of communications, and Bob Young, faculty associate at Arizona State University, will guide students through a transformative educational journey. The study abroad experience will propel students into the heart of the world’s premier sporting event, the Paris Olympics, and expose them to diverse cultures, fostering a deeper understanding of the global landscape.

A dual focus on sports journalism and writing ensures a comprehensive skill set that will set participants apart in the competitive workforce. The program will provide students with an unparalleled opportunity to expand their global outlook and hone their craft in sports media education.

To ensure inclusivity for student participation, the program is actively seeking donations to make it affordable for underrepresented students.
