The Impact of CSUF Study Abroad and Global Engagement

Share This:

It’s been an incredible year so far for CSUF Study Abroad & Global Engagement (SAGE), with several accomplishments:

  • Paulina Jimenez, a Dreamer student who joined the Cal State DC Scholars program through SAGE, attended the February 7 State of the Union Address by President Joe Biden.
  • 14 out of 19 CSUF applicants were awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to help fund their study abroad trips. The national average for Gilman recipients is 25% of applicants, and CSUF achieved 75%.
  • So far, 13 CSUF students have been accepted to study abroad in Japan for the 2023-2024 academic year.

SAGE is committed to its mission of connecting Cal State Fullerton’s diverse community of students, faculty, and staff with global opportunities that enrich academic and professional lives.

Their dedication to global learning comes in all forms: study abroad (taking classes in another country), study away (taking classes in another state, such as the DC Scholars program), and even virtual programs where students can attend classes in another country with the convenience of being online. There are also numerous financial aid and scholarship resources available to ensure that studying abroad is made possible for all students.

No matter which country or state you’d like to visit, and whether you want to complete undergraduate classes, graduate classes, internships, or volunteer work, SAGE will help find a program that’s right for you.
