The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Center, which supports undergraduate students and their faculty advisers, has launched a new program titled Engaging Graduate Students in Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities.
The program provides support to CSUF graduate students as they engage in faculty-led scholarly or creative projects during the 2024 summer and fall semesters. The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Investing Now to Expand Faculty Research Through Capacity Building project.
Beyond supporting faculty and student participation, EG-RSCA provides workshops to develop students’ scholarly and creative presentation skills. EG-RSCA concludes the summer with a student conference, in which student researchers describe their EG-RSCA experiences and share their projects alongside their peers. EG-RSCA funding will be awarded to both faculty members and student participants. The award extends through summer and fall 2024. The program begins with an eight-week EG-RSCA summer program from June 10 to Aug. 2. Professional development programing is offered during both summer and fall 2024 sessions. The fall program begins Aug. 19 and runs through Dec. 13, and it culminates with a final presentation from students and a final report from faculty.
